What to Do When Your Vape Tastes Wrong
There are a lot of reasons that vapers report choosing to use

phenomenon. Fortunately, those same causes being relatively common makes
them both easy to identify, and easy to sort out.
Burnt Taste
“Burnt” hits are possibly the flavor-destroyer most often encountered by vapers. Inexperienced e-cig users can be particularly vulnerable to burnt hits, as they’re regularly caused by oversights that more experienced vapers have the experience to avoid. As often (or more) than not, if a hit tastes burnt, it’s because you’re inhaling something burning—usually cotton—in the wick.
Pulling on a dry wick can mean you’re out of vape juice. It can also mean you’re not saturating your wick thoroughly enough before drawing. If your wattage is too high, taking a hit can burn the cotton even when it’s not entirely dry. The temperature being off can be responsible for a burnt hit, as can chain vaping juice—taking hits fast enough to dry the wick out.
Just Tastes Weird, Bad, or Wrong
What about when a hit results in an unpleasant taste that isn’t burnt but rather foul, bitter, strange, or just generally wrong? Lastly, there’s also a phenomenon known as “vaper’s tongue” that results from smoking the same flavor exclusively. Something about that seems to have a desensitizing influence on a vaper’s taste buds. So switch it up! After all, experimenting with new vape juice flavors is half the fun.
